It might not be the biggest reveal on the Internet today, but WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has sadly been informed that at the end of 2023 WWE Home Video will be no more, worldwide.

Yes, we’ve been here before. Going into 2022 we were in this same spot, but a last-minute decision by WWE (a deal made, we think) meant their Home Video division would continue on for another two years. Unfortunately, though, this is the end of the road — there will be no more WWE DVD or Blu-ray releases beginning 2024.

Feels like we’ve mourned the end of WWE DVDs once already, but it can’t be understated the end of WWE Home Video means the end of an era. WWF/E’s physical media presence stretches back to 1985 with Colliseum Video on VHS, and DVD releases since 1999. Over nearly four decades, the company would release their content in several different physical formats – VHS, Betamax, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-ray, and even UMD included.
WrestleManias, PPVs lined up on the shelf, feature-length documentaries, unreleased matches, extra features, cool artwork and packaging, store exclusives, Anthology box sets, movies, music videos, a DVD that revived a company, a few that ended in lawsuits, one that meant the return of a legend, two-disc sets, three-disc sets, four-discs set (WHAT!). There’s lots of fond memories, isn’t there?
2023 was the last year for WWE Home Video in all markets.

Fremantle, WWE’s official licensee throughout Europe, have issued a statement today:
With great sadness we must announce that WWE have taken the decision to withdraw from the Home Video category. No licensing deals will be renewed worldwide after 2023.
This means the very last WWE Home Video release from Fremantle will be CROWN JEWEL 2023 (2-Disc DVD) on 18th December (UK) and 22nd December (GER).
WWE Home Video have been releasing VHS, DVD & Blu-ray for 36 years, the last 11 years through Fremantle in Europe, but this will come to an end on 31st December 2023 with no further WWE DVD or Blu-ray stock manufactured.
Everyone at WWE Home Video UK would like to thank all our collectors and fans for many years of support and passion.
The “Drew McIntyre: Best of WWE’s Scottish Warrior” DVD from late 2021 wound up as the last Superstar-themed release in the US (if we’re not counting the A&E documentaries on “Biography: WWE Legends Volume 3”) – McIntyre’s DVD would have been the last one if the cancellation announcement going into 2022 had stuck, too.
“American Nightmare: The Best of Cody Rhodes” from early 2023 would be the last Superstar-themed DVD release ever, a title that was exclusive to the UK and Europe.
“Best of Attitude Era Royal Rumble Matches” also from early this year was the last non-PPV/PLE release in the US. In Europe, though, that would be the new Christmas-themed DVD that Fremantle put out in stores this week.

This means Survivor Series 2023 is scheduled to be the final WWE DVD release ever in the US on December 26th, with Crown Jewel 2023 being the last one in the UK on December 18th.
Unfortunately given the timing of the cancellation it means Survivor Series 2023 will not make it to DVD nor Blu-ray in the UK and Europe.
